- On October 27, children are invited to come to Meeting in Halloween costumes and will be collecting cash & coins to support UNICEF at the rise of meeting. If you are able, please bring cash and coins to donate… the more coins the merrier!
- November 3 – We welcome families to attend RE at The Clearing on November 3 at 11 am. While adults will meet for worship outdoors, Al Best will lead the children in a morning of nature exploration. Bring a packed lunch. If you need directions or a ride, please ask! There will be a nursery and one all-ages class at the Meeting house on Kensington Ave to offer caregivers a choice of venue.
- Requirements & Guidelines of Childcare & Child Programming at RFM: This document has four purposes. First, to clarify the difference between childcare, child programming, and the role of RE. Second, to clarify the legal and safety requirements RE must adhere to in order to satisfy insurance requirements, protect children, and protect volunteers. These requirements include background checks on all volunteers and two adults in every classroom at all times when children are present. Third, to outline the appropriate utilization of paid nursery workers. Lastly, to share that the Religious Education committee will develop & maintain a list of volunteers specifically for non-RE committee events. RE will not schedule childcare for other committees; however, as advocates for the children of RFM, it is the responsibility of the RE committee to set forth the requirements for the entire meeting with regards to children’s services. You may find the document on pages 10 and 11 of this newsletter or by following this link: https://tinyurl.com/289ywnty
- If you are interested in being added to the Volunteer Childcare list for NON-RE Committee events and are willing to complete a background check form, please see Elizabeth Price.
