For more than 150 years, Ramallah Friends School (RFS) has stood as a testament to the power of education and the unwavering pursuit of peace.  This beacon of hope in the heart of Palestine has nurtured generations of students, providing them with a rigorous academic foundation rooted in the Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, equality, and stewardship.

Today, the Ramallah School faces unprecedented challenges amid the unfolding genocide in Gaza, and escalation of violence in the West Bank further impacting social, emotional, and financial outcomes.  Many families are looking to migrate; calls are increasing to request that students leave our classrooms.  One average, twelve families have made this decision so far.  We expect many more turbulent calls, considering the unpredictable learning environment and trying circumstances in Palestine.

The Ramallah Friends School Solidarity Fund is being established to provide critical support during this difficult time.  This fund will directly address the growing financial needs of the school and ensure that its doors remain open to all students, regardless of their families’ economic circumstances

Richmond Friends Meeting Committee on Peace and Social Concerns invites all to a fundraising luncheon on First Day, January 12, at rise of meeting, with guest speaker Betsy Brinson.
