Knicely Bequest/Mini-grants
In 2019 Richmond Friends Meeting received a bequest from Donna Knicely. A plan for the bequest’s use was approved by Richmond Friends Meeting in February, 2020. In accordance with the plan, money will be divided between 3 projects: Meetinghouse Improvements, Clearing Improvements, and a new mini-grant project. To read the full plan and recommendation, see below.
The RFM Legacy Mini-Grant Program funds have been designated for mini-grants to support the leadings and ministries of members and regular attenders of Richmond Friends Meeting. The purpose of these funds is to support projects as seeds for spiritual growth.
Requests should be guided by the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality and stewardship of the environment. Funds may be requested for (but not limited to) the development of programs, activities, items or workshops that support and enhance the Meeting and/or the broader community.
Grants will be awarded in the Fall 2020. Grant proposals will be submitted to the Bequest Fulfillment Committee. This group will make decisions based on objective criteria and prayerful discernment along with possible discussion with the applicants. The submission deadline is September 1, 2020.
