Adult Spiritual Education is delighted to announce that one of RFM’s own — Dash Shaw, a celebrated graphic artist, animator, and filmmaker — will be presenting a session for us on Saturday morning, July 23rd from 9:30 to 10:30. We are honored to have Dash, son of Monica and Dan Shaw, who grew up in the Meeting and has since received many accolades and won numerous awards for his work. He will talk with us about his research and theprocess of making his graphic novel, Discipline, about a Quaker soldier in the war between the States. Discipline was published by the New York Review Comics and named one of the Graphic Novels of the Year by both the New York Times and the Guardian. 

We encourage you to read the book before the session, but Dash’s presentation will be engaging whether you have had the opportunity to read it in advance or not. There are two copies in the library and Discipline is also available to purchase at Amazon and Barnes & Noble online
